The devices keeps trying to turn the wifi on, which creates periodic WifiStateMachine wakelocks. Since the wifi toggle stops working at this point, there's no way to ask the device to stop trying to turn the wifi on. Through this app, you can determine the state of your wifi chip. If it says unknown, that can either mean a hardware failure, or corrupt drivers. In either case, this app will help you get rid of the WifiStateMachine wakelocks and help save your battery life. Tested on Galaxy S2 I9100.
