Mariano Javier Castro, known as Dread Mar I, began his solo career in 2005 after several years as lead singer of Messengers.
In April 2005 he released his first album, "Jah Guide". During that year Dread Mar I participated as a permanent member of Los Cafres, accompanying the band Bonetto in the Works Stadium and Luna Park, where they recorded their DVD "Los Cafres - Luna Park". Dread Mar I participated in choirs, and two concerts by the singer replaced the Argentina coast.
In 2006 he participated in the first edition of the classic Bob Marley Day festival. He appeared on the same night as The Peter Tosh and The Wailers Band at Luna Park stadium packed with 8,000 spectators.
