CricBuzz is a sports news website and app covering the game of cricket exclusively. The site features news, articles, live coverage of cricket matches (including videos and scorecards), player rankings and team rankings.
CricBuzz was created by three Infosys former employees Piyush Agrawal (IIT, BHU alumnus), Pankaj Chhaparwal and Pravin Hegde in the year 2004. By 2010, CricBuzz started developing mobile app for live cricket news and scores.
In Nov 2014, Times Internet, a subsidiary of Times of India acquired majority stake in CricBuzz for undisclosed sum. Post acquisition, the website continues to be managed by the original founders.[5][6]
In Jan 2015, Times Internet owned GoCricket was merged into cricbuzz. GoCricket's website was redirected to cricbuzz and the mobile app of GoCricket was also merged with that of cricbuzz. GoCricket and Times Internet started alerting its users on various social media sites to follow cricbuzz.
