mode
may
be
its
own
setting
or
sometimes
it
can
be
a
supplemental
setting
that
can
be
used
in
conjunction
with
almost
any
other
setting.
When
it's
a
supplemental
setting,
it
will
have
its
own
button,
rather
than
being
on
the
same
dial
as
all
the
other
preset
scene
modes.
Macro
button
Macro
mode
is
really
characterized
by
how
close
the
subjects
are
and
how
much
of
the
frame
they
fill.
Generally
speaking,
there
is
only
one
subject
(or
a
tight
cluster
of
subjects)
which
fills
most
of
the
frame
and
is
0'-6'
(0m-2m)
away.
For
that
reason,
focusing
starts
at
the
closest
end
of
the
lens'
focus
range.
Cameras
and
lenses
vary
in
their
close
focusing
ability.
Some
can
focus
just
inches
away
while
others
may
not
do
well
with
subjects
closer
than
two
arm
lengths.
The
latter
is
especially
true
with
focus-free
cameras.
