تعريف الرشح: هو التهاب فيروسي حاد يَصيب الجهاز التنفسي العلوي، خاصة الأنف والبلعوم، وفيروس الرشح ناقل للعدوى بشكل كبير، وفيه يطرأ سيلان من الأنف بشكل كبير، والشعور بغصة في البلعوم وذلك ناتح عن التهاب في اللوزتين، بالإضافة إلى السعال القوي الذي يتبعه بحة في الصوت، وحرقة وألم في العينين، مع فقد في التركيز لأجزاء الجسم، وصداع يسيطر على جميع أجزاء الرأس، وقد يطرأ ارتفاع في درجة حرارة الجسم وتصبب العرق، ويطلق عليه اسم الرشح، الزكام، نزلة البرد.
