A boil is an infection that appears on the skin like a bump filled with pus. This type of infection usually occurs in the hair follicles and near skin tissues. Boils appear very frequently, but can become very serious if you do not treat them properly and quickly. If a boil pops on your skin, you can use many treatments at home to help relieve the pain and get rid of all the bacteria. However, if you have diabetes, a particular skin problem, or if you are an immunocompromised patient, you should ignore home treatment and talk to your doctor without further delay.
