A photo guide for five city tours, unveiling the scars of the Second World War bombings over our capital. Archival photographs from the pre-war architectural masterpieces and from the destructions are contrasted to the changes introduced during the second half of the 20th c. in the capital’s urban design. The juxtaposition between inspired by Central Europe and imposed by socialist modernism buildings, invites us to consider the long-term effects of war: upon organization of our daily lives; upon our perceptions of cultural affiliations; upon internalized by generations aesthetics.
