Spending all working day behind monitor may cause a drop in your eyesight abilities. A simple solution is to work with one eye, another being covered with a strip of cloth.
The covered eye remains open but the brain keeps it unfocussed: it rests effectively. You may be finally surprised how well the only eye could manage looking at 2D objects such as monitor, still it could take some transitional period until you feel comfortable, it was just a couple of days for me.
It's important to keep balance between
working time of eyes spreading the eyesight load uniformly.
The application tracks the working time of each eye and makes sure those times are close. Once a 30 min difference in time is reached, the device vibrates shortly and starts blinking user screen thus encouraging a user to change working eye. If followed, for long working days such prescriptions yield for each eye approximately 1hr periods of intermittent work and rest. Current position of cover cloth is depicted with a picture on the UI, the active side is changed by touching the photo at the point where cloth resides. If work with a monitor is stopped and you take off the covering cloth, the tracking may be paused. Or, when starting a new day, you may reset tracking times.
