  Terrible tutorial, stuck on the create a straight tutorial for minutes with no instruction other than to swap cards around randomly like a lunatic. Needs a vast improvement.

  While trying to keep the game new and fresh which they are decent with, they removed tricks, a intregral part of the game, from everything but the daily arena. The new look, while visually appealing, is much more difficult to navigate or know what events are ready or claimable. The newest update made the game less enjoyable even after giving it time to see if it improved anything. A step back from the 5 star game i loved.

  I've only played it for three weeks, but it's probably my favorite card game hands down. The art style is incredibly charming and the game play is easy to pick up but also deeply complex once you master the basics. The game puts a strong emphasis on strategy but a little bit of luck is just enough to turn the tides to win what seems like a hopeless battle. There's a unique 'partner' system where you get to borrow another player's card when doing the main campaign that let's new players experience powerful cards and slowly build friendships. (Which leads to dragon raids a lot more fun) It serves as a nice motivation to keep working hard and building your collection. Progressing can be pretty rewarding as exp and gold drops get a multiplier based on the three cards you draw (and if they happen to form a combination will then be multiplied with the base drop which can lead to accelerated progress) I think the library where you can revisit tutorials, but also go on specific themed adventures to show case some of the legendary cards serves as another excellent design choice to really show off different play styles. Aside from the obvious straight/flush/earth/water/fire/arcane combos, I do like the specific card sets: ex. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Journey to the West, etc. It adds an extra dimension of play, though I can't say I have too much experience since I'm still missing a lot of cards from each set There are some microtransactions but most of it isn't all that intrusive and you can gain diamonds at a fairly reasonable pace even without spending money through other means/daily events, but there's not that much pressure. And all the purchases that I've made were ones I've made because I enjoyed the game enough. My only real criticism is a pretty minor one, but it would be nice when looking through my card collection after selecting what filters (class/type/rarity) it'd be nice if I could arrange them either in ABC order, level, or something similar so finding a specific card be a bit faster, but it's not that big of a deal where I am at this point in the game since I don't have that many cards where it's a bit cumbersome quite yet. Overall, prior to this review I have recommended this to one other friend (though I don't think he's tried it yet) but I would recommend it if anyone wants to try something a little bit different. Edit: FWIW, it's one of the few games I've sat down to properly review so it's a pretty big testiment to how much I like the game.
