Description of DTS Play-Fi™

Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.
The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.
The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services such as Tidal and Deezer; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your devices’ music library, including your playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.
The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, or stream to all of them at once.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Wren, or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.
Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

It works fine but the music player is dismal. DTS PlayFi works great for its intended purposes, but when playing a locally stored collection, it is rudimentary at best. A very very basic player, which has difficulty in cross folder stored music playing/playlist successive streaming.

I cannot believe what an idiot I am spending over 12 hrs of my life I will NEVER get back, trying to get this app to work with my now discontinued Polk Omni 2 wi-fi speakers and discontinued app! Crashes every 4 or 5 minutes, 3 of my speakers won't connect. Play-fi has had me jumping thru hoops. Nothing works! All other wi-fi devices with their own proprietary apps WORK FINE! Google Echo & Assistants, Wyze Cam, T-P Link bulbs and plugs, garage door opener! Everything else! It's this app!

After some initial connectivity issues which were solved when the app downloaded two update files, this app has worked faultlessly with my Audiolab 6000N media player. It may not be the most intuitive app to use but once you get familiar with it it's a doddle.

Great if you can get it to work I got new fiber optic over a month ago and I've gotten the play-fi surround to work for a total of 4 days. I spent hours going through the app and hours talking to AT&t trying to split the frequencies and then putting them back together it is a pain in the ass there is no customer service number to get help. I contacted their parent company left 4 voicemails without anybody returning my phone call. I have decided it's not worth it.
