This app has been developed by experts at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in order to provide a “positive pregnancy experience” to all the patients.
It has been devised keeping in mind the latest WHO guidelines and aims to provide a wholesome and complete antenatal care package to expecting mothers.
It also aims to serve as a template for health care providers at secondary and tertiary level centers, guiding through the various antenatal visits and the various tests required and the medications to be prescribed. Identifying the need for referral in case of any significant abnormalities found also forms an important component, all of which in turn aim to provide quality health care at all levels of the health care system.
The application has provisions for identifying any significant complaints, abnormalities on examination or abnormal laboratory investigations or ultrasound and flagging that to bring to the attention of the health care providers.
There are inbuilt reminders for scheduling subsequent antenatal visits so as to ensure a complete coverage of antenatal visits.
Videos regarding dietary advise during pregnancy, various exercises which can be done through the course of pregnancy and yoga for pregnant women have been developed with the help of experts and uploaded.
The commonest complaints that pregnant women experience during the course of pregnancy, which have been identified by WHO, have been focused upon along with advocating lifestyle modifications and home-based remedies for the same.
There is also provision for contacting the healthcare provider and information regarding the danger signs in pregnancy for which to immediately contact the hospital.
Hence, this app with its evidence based content will guide both healthcare workers and expecting mothers step by step through the course of the entire pregnancy and aim to provide a wholesome experience.
