This is just not good software. It doesn't work well at all. I typically have to restart it 4-5x to get it to connect.

Critical Privacy Vulnerability: as of October 2020 this app introduced a critical privacy vulnerability which requires the user to divulge location details even when the app is not in use. Wahoo developers have circumvented privacy protections offered by the Android operating system to report location data. There is no way for the user to prevent the Wahoo app from reporting location data except to uninstall or disable the app completely. Using another app is the only solution.

Works great with the product connection-wise. Love the "open in pop-up view" support to stream my Hulu shows while keeping heart rate on screen at all times without shrinking show to 50% size split screen mode.

Helpful. Easy to use. Only use it for indoor cycling atm so can't comment on other uses. Takes a while to connect with HRM, but that could be the HRM rather than the app

This app now requires full-time location tracking to record a workout which is utter nonsense. Also the Wahoo responses here are inaccurate. You need to enable the BLUETOOTH permission as well as CompanionDeviceManager for Android 8 or later. They are saying you also need to enable ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION which Google clearly states is not required. Refer to the Android developer documentation "Bluetooth Overview".

I have been using the app for well over a year in conjunction with my Wahoo speed and cadence sensors as well as a heart rate monitor. I bought the sensors and installed the app so that I could do a better job of maintaining a steady speed while leading bicycle club rides that are posted for a given speed. I use Ride With GPS (RWGPS) for navigation and to provide to people who are on the ride with details of the ride plan. Both RWGPS and Wahoo will run at the same time. Up until a couple of weeks ago I would have given the Wahoo app 5 stars. Recently, however, they updated the app with a requirement that it have access to your location EVEN WHEN THE APP IS NOT BEING USED. I can see no legitimate reason for them to know my location when the app is not in use. This is an invasion of my privacy. You have the ability to select access to giving access while the app is in use or denying access altogether. If you select either of these, the app won't work. I am going to quit using the app and rely on RWGPS to link with the Wahoo sensors.
