Urostentz, is India's first comprehensive smart phone application having the features of keeping tabs on the ureteral stents as well as the symptoms of the patients not only after stent insertion but even after stent removal.
It is an easy tool by which an urologist and his/her staff can keep a track of stents and symptoms, thereby avoiding not only the risk of forgotten stents but also decreases psychological and economic burden of the patients by reducing their unnecessary visits to the hospital due to minor symptoms.
An additional feature is the tab of "Alarming" symptoms which are notified to the clinician immediately. Also patient can request for "Change in Appointment Date and Time" provided it is approved by the urologist/staff. Sending notifications/SMS to patient about reminding of stent removal or assuring regarding the symptoms is also easy.
Data entry is also easy and streamlined. All the tabs needed to keep a track of stents and symptoms are available at a glance on the clinician's interface
A patient's interface is also available for notifying the clinician of these symptoms by answering a simple questionnaire which also also has pictorial representations for the easier understanding of the patients.
Patient education is also supported by this app as knowledge on kidney stones, symptoms, dietary recommendations, types of ureteral stents and risks of forgotten stents is also provided to all people who download this application.
It is one of its kind applications providing a wholesome approach in stent and symptom tracking as well as providing patient education.
