Still works on android 9 despite not seeing development for years. I sync notes between Android, windows and linux devices using syncthing.

Great! I can use tomboy again! Easily create notes which auto link to one another Allows for widgets to link with specific notes.(useful seeing theirs no way of organizing them inside the app, I'm building an reference note!) Needs: a better way of organizing mountains of notes as there is no higherarchy method as I'm accustomed to. This results in all my notes in one list (searchable to include what's written inside)

Not a desktop replacement. But an excellent open source note app. Don't use server sync. Just output to a directory on the SD and use your sync programme (own cloud, Dropbox, sync thing etc) to sync the folder.

Very much improved since the last time I used it. More is needed, all the features of the same software for Linux.
