I've had this app for a while now. It consistently disappoints. 1. The app is supposed to allow the user to use "device manager" to manage names. Repeatedly, I've assigned a device name and get the "device information updated successfully" message. When I reload the device manager page, the device name reverts to the generic. This has been happening for months. Through multiple updates. 2. The admin account can't change its own security settings. How dumb is that?

Just downloaded the app and it kept freezing at the update firmware section. Wasted 30 minutes. Doesn't even the option to bypass the update so that I can at least finish setting up the router. Finally just gave up on app and went on browser and the whole experience way better and faster. Was able to complete setup on browser and get back on the internet. Don't use the app for setup.

10/17/20 update made app unusable. The app worked fine until update. but I updated it today and now it won't accept my passwords. Rebooted router still nothing. Now I have to log on to my computer to work with my router. App has now become useless

Honestly, I'm not sure how a long-standing company like NETGEAR can let an app like this get to market. Having just purchased a brand new CAX80 modem/router - thinking I was "upgrading" my old NETGEAR router. It's a downgrade. I've been a loyal customer for many many years, but after this experience and ongoing issues I'm now looking at other options for a reliable replacement. Don't waste your time, or your money, NETGEAR is not the home networking powerhouse it once was.

If I could post the screen shot of the app, I would, but long story short, after a few hours of installing, reinstalling after the app crashed, then subsequently having to reinstall it after every other crash (yes, I tried force stopping it and clearing the cache), I eventually factory reset the router and tried again to get a lovely message saying "Still having issues? You are currently connected to 'M2SR'. Please try connecting to 'M2SR' before retrying setup." Would not recommend right now.

App works good but only thing I would say is that it's missing the ability to change the names of the devices connected to wifi. It's such a hassle having to look for the device to pause the internet on.
