Description of FairEmail, privacy aware email

FairEmail is easy to set up and works with virtually all email providers, including Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo!
FairEmail might be for you if you value your privacy.
FairEmail is simple to use, but if you are looking for a very simple email app, FairEmail might not be the right choice.
FairEmail is an email client only, so you need to bring your own email address. FairEmail is not a calendar/contact/task/note manager and cannot make you coffee.
FairEmail does not support non-standard protocols, like Microsoft Exchange Web Services and Microsoft ActiveSync.
Almost all features are free to use, but to maintain and support the app in the long term, not every feature can be for free. See below for a list of pro features.
A lot of effort has gone into this mail app, which was developed to help you protect your privacy. If you have a question or problem, there is always support at marcel@faircode.eu.

Straightforward mail app with PGP encryption via OpenKeychain and tons of features. All I wanted was to have PGP functionality, but what I got was a fully privacy-focused experience without losing any functionality. FairEmail informs me of privacy issues and gives me control over what to do about them. I can sign and encrypt emails as well as read encrypted emails with ease. I know what actions the app is taking thanks to a persistent notification function. This is the gold standard.

Best free email client app for Android users that I have used, and I have used a lot over the years. It is highly configurable but just as easy to use with default settings. No constant ads. Purchased the one off upgrade because of the security and reliability and want the app to continue its development and support if and when I need it. Excellent software.

So far the best mobile email client I've used. Personally the privacy features are my favourite. In contrast to most other apps I've tried, push connections work well. Thanks! Bought the pro version almost immediately after my first try.

Looking for a better alternative to K9-Mail (or stock email app)? Look no further. This easily replaced my previously heavily used K9 and brings a lot of additional unique and useful settings, is extremely customizable, respects and actively protects your privacy. Absolutely recommended. Get the one-time-paid pro version if you want to support the developer.

Re: contacts preview image. Upon further investigation, it appears I now have to type more letters to get the image to appear (odd I know!). Previously, had I typed 'an' (part of Anjelika) the contact would appear with image - it stopped doing so. Now I have to type 'anje' to get the image to appear. Permissions are all fine, no changes to the app or contacts - only the 2 Fair Email updates recently. Not a big issue, but a small change without the end user meddling with settings! Cheers.

The customer service is really good. Mr. Bokhorst was helpful, patient & courteous, & I was able to get this app installed. It would be good to have a calendar option included, but maybe it'll be in a future version. 🙂 2020-10-13 Thank you for the improvements to this app! Love the correction re: new notifications. 😀 Thank you!
