This is excellent and I dread the day that it becomes defunct in favour of the much advertised Sounds which is compatible with NONE of my devices, of which I have five. Hopefully the powers that be have realised that this is the case for many people and will keep it up and running. I'd be miserable without it (that's an understatement - please keep it going).

Why is this app still available as it no longer works? I downloaded it hoping it might be a viable alternative to the Sounds app - which is not compatible with my older version of Android - but I wasted my time.

RIP bbc iplayer radio. You lived a long life and made a lot of us very happy with your clear and easy to use interface. It is a shame your child BBC sounds seems to be such a disappointment. I suspect it spent too much time in the pub getting drunk. This is why it is such a mess. Who knows maybe BBC sounds will sober up and get a proper UI but I doubt it. So much money spent on it for nothing.

iPlayer Radio is a well designed and easy to use app, with simple functionality. It is far superior to the poorly designed and disfunctional Sounds app. It is a real shame that the BBC has decided to kill off iPlayer Radio. Fortunately I've found a stay of execution thanks to another reviewer:. By deleting and reinstalling the iPlayer Radio it comes back life, for now.

It will be a sad day when the BBC pull the plug on this great app, it is far more user friendly than the awful Sounds app-all because the BBC want to appeal to the younger audience. I detest the Sounds app, too bright & difficult to find what I want to listen too. The poor reviews suggest I'm not the only one.

Great app. Easy to explore and find programs. Has never let me down. BBC Sounds, on the other hand, is a gimmicky, flashy presentation with unnecessary razamataz. I understand it's aimed at a young audience to try to pull them in. However, BBC be careful, do not throw the baby out with the bathwater
