  It seems that on a Android 9 system, you need to keep battery optimization off for this program. On my new Pixel 3, after a couple of days, the system Adaptive Battery decided the Auto Screen Saver battery should be limited. After that, it stop working. What I had to do was: Tap Apps & notifications and then Advanced and then Special app access and then Battery optimization. Make this app “Not optimized.” It seems to work now, will report back in a few days if still a problem.
