For real-time information of bus locations, use the app OASA Telematics.
Athens Next Bus does not use real-time data yet.
It is still useful for offline use, and for estimating arrival times of itineraries that have not started yet and therefore do not have real-time data.

Makes your bus rides in Athens more predictable, so you can catch the next bus.
Displays schedules, stops, maps, nearby lines.
Computes trips.
Includes estimated arrival times for buses at the stop of your choice, using the published itineraries and the average speeds of buses, which are computed by analyzing past trips that have been recorded with GPS.
Uses geographical and schedule data from OASA, which are checked daily for changes.
The data are used offline and are updated with your permission.
Includes all OASA lines, buses, metro, tram, light rail.
This is an open source application.
