Przemyśl - Miasto Kultur

Przemyśl – miasto kultur to trasa przekrojowa, eklektyczna, akcentuje wielokulturowość Przemyśla, wpisując się w liczne idee i inicjatywy promowania miasta jako miejsca konwergencji kultur. Obejmuje m.in. Kopiec Tatarski, obiekty sakralne (w tym budynek dawnej synagogi), cmentarze przemyskie (w tym żydowski i wojenny), a także inne liczne zabytki i artefakty związane z obecnością mniejszości żydowskiej i ukraińskiej. Szczególny nacisk położono kilkusetletnią historię mniejszości żydowskiej w Przemyślu od czasów Zygmunta Augusta (który nadał Żydom przemyskim przywileje, zezwalając na swobodne osiedlanie się oraz prowadzenie działalności gospodarczej), poprzez masowy mord ludności żydowskiej w 1939 roku, aż po współczesność. Odwołaniem do czasów zaboru austriackiego, jest oczywiście postać Szwejka, czyli pomnik-ławka upamiętniający postać z powieści Jaroslava Haška, znajdujący się na rynku Przemyskim.
Przemyśl - the city of cultures is a cross-sectional, eclectic route, accentuates the multiculturalism of Przemyśl, inscribing itself into numerous ideas and initiatives to promote the city as a place of convergence of cultures. It includes The Tatar Mound, sacral buildings (including the building of the former synagogue), Przemyśl cemeteries (including Jewish and military ones), as well as other numerous monuments and artifacts related to the presence of the Jewish and Ukrainian minorities. Particular emphasis was put on the history of the Jewish minority in Przemyśl from the time of Sigismund Augustus (who gave the Przemyśl Jews privileges, allowing free settlement and running a business), through the mass murder of the Jewish population in 1939, up to the present day. The reference to the times of the Austrian partition is, of course, the figure of Švejk, ie a monument-bench commemorating the figure from Jaroslav Hašek's novel, located on the Przemyśl market square.
