Bible Knowledge for SPM app is based on the Syllabus and Examination Format as in Malaysia.
The syllabus provides for the study of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Gospel of Luke and the growth of the Early Church as contained in the Acts of the Apostles. Although the NIV is mainly used for developing Bible Knowledge for SPM app, the Good News Version is the accepted standard text . Candidates, however, will not be penalised if they use other versions in their answers. The syllabus requires a minimum of two hours of instruction per week over a period of two years.
Bible Knowledge for SPM app serves as an alternative to the traditional textbook. This is to ensure the optimum time of reading and revising be given to candidates prior to the actual examination.
The general aim of this app, Bible Knowledge for SPM, is to acquire knowledge and understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the growth of the Early Church.
Candidates will be expected to:
1. Recall and select factual information
2. Describe, explain, relate and compare and contrast events and teachings in an organised manner
3. Describe and show an understanding of the role and importance of special people
4. Appreciate the Christian response to moral issues
Candidates should have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the historical, cultural, political, social and religious setting of the period. A detailed knowledge of both texts is required. The subject content is divided into two sections:
Section 1: The Life and Teachings of Christ contained in the Gospel of Luke (Chapters 1-24)
Section 2: The Acts of the Apostles (Chapters 1-28)
Candidates are required to sit for one paper, the duration of which is two and a half hours.
