Astana International Airport was founded in 1931 as small-size airport for handling small aircrafts. Nowadays, 80 years after, it’s one of the most modern airports on the Eurasian continent. There are about 80 flights every day to neighboring countries and beyond.
Airport renders services for more than 20 airlines, which perform regularly passenger flights to CIS and non-CIS states. They are: “Air Astana”, “Scat”, “Zhetysu”, “Bek Air”, “Qazaq Air”, “AtlasJet”, “Aeroflot”, “Lufthansa”, “Asiana Airlines” “Etihad airways”, “Fly Dubai”, “Turkish airlines”, “O’zbekiston Havo Yo’llari”, “Belavia”, “Ukraine International Airlines”, “China Southern Airlines”, “Air Arabia”, “Rossiya”, “KLM” and others. Every year one or two air companies open new routes in Astana Airport .
There are regularly flights to all regional centers of Kazakhstan and to the cities of CIS such as: Moscow, Tashkent, Kiev, Minsk, Tbilisi, Bishkek, Baku, Kazan, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. And there are also flights to far-abroad countries: Frankfurt, Vienna, Abu-Dhabi, Istanbul, Beijing, Antalya, Urumqi, Sharjah, London, Seoul, Paris.
In 2016, airport rendered services for 3 mln 419 thousand passengers and handled 8 990 ton of cargo.
