Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Assessment
Health & Fitness | 2.4MB
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs.
As often COPD is misdiagnosed in light of simple de-conditioning, it is imperative to assess the signs, symptoms, family history and exposure to air pollutants including smoking.
You can also measure the ECG and assess for faster heartbeat, cardiac arrhythmia, Atrial fibrillation, risk for heart disease and assess the side effects of the drugs for weight loss or weight gain and fatigue. The shortness of breath is assessed in terms of oxygen saturation in blood (SPO2), Heart Rate and Pulse Rate / Breath Rate.
Other aspects like anxiety, early awakening, fast heart rate, and pulse are assessed as part of the diagnosis.
It's your life and health. So, be proactive.
