This is one of a group of South Asian trick-taking games in which the Jack and the Nine are the highest cards in every suit. It is certain that they are descended from the European family of Jass games, which originated in the Netherlands. They were brought to the Indian subcontinent by Dutch traders.
32 cards from a standard 52-card pack are used for play. The cards in every suit rank from high to low: J-9-A-10-K-Q-8-7. The aim of the game is to win tricks containing valuable cards. The values of the cards are:
Jacks 3 points each
Nines 2 points each
Aces 1 point each
Tens 1 point each
Other cards (K, Q, 8, 7) no points

Key Features of 29 Card Game
It is played with J, 9, A, 10, K, Q, 8, 7 from each suit. Hence there are 32 cards in the game.
The points of each card are: J (3 points), 9 (2), A (1), 10 (1) and K, Q, 8, 7 have 0 points each.
There are 3 2 1 1 = 7 points in each suit, hence a total of 7 x 4 = 28 points. There is an optional additional point for winning the last hand, taking the total to 29.
👥 The game is played by four players in two teams (alternate players form a team), with each player receiving a hand of 8 cards.
🏆 The aim of the game is to win rounds (or tricks) and score points, with the highest card in each round winning all four cards of that round. The objective is to win a set by reaching 6 red points (or pushing the opponents to 6 black points).

Twenty-nine or 29 (it is also called 28 sometimes with minor variations in rules) is a very famous card game which is played by four players in fixed partnerships.
The players facing each other are partners. The game is played with 32 cards comprising of 8 cards from each suit.
Jack (3 points), Nine (2 points), Ace (1 point) and Ten (1 point) are the only cards which have points. Thus making a total of 28 points. And Extra 1 point for last trick winner that makes a total 29 point: this total explains the name of the game. The teams need to bid and set a target for themselves and then achieve it.
