Description District Seoni

Seoni district was formed on 1 November 1956 primarily as tribal-dominated district.
Seoni district was named after the tree named Seona. This tree is found in abundance in this district.This tree is used to make the dholak. This district is located in the north-south of the Satpura mountain.This district belongs to Jabalpur division. This district is located on 21 36 'and 22 57' latitude and 799 'and 8017' in the north.This district is the main source of timber. Teak is found mainly in this district.
सिवनी जिले का गठन 1 नवम्बर 1956 में प्राथमिक रूप से जनजातीय बहुल जिले के रूप में किया गया।
सिवनी जिले का नाम सेओना नामक वृक्ष के नाम पर किया गया। यह वृक्ष इस जिले में बहुतायत में पाया जाता है।
इस वृक्ष का उपयोग ढोलक बनाने में किया जाता है। यह जिला सतपुड़ा पर्वत के उत्तर-दक्षिण में स्थित है।
यह जिला जबलपुर संभाग के अंतर्गत आता है। यह जिला उत्तर में 21 36’ और 22 57’ अक्षांश एवं पूर्व में 79 19’ और 8017’ पर स्थित है।
यह जिला इमारती लकड़ी का मुख्य स्त्रोत है। सागौन इस जिले में मुख्य रूप से पाया जाता है।
यहां की वैनगंगा नदी सिवनी जिले की जीवनधारा के रूप में जानी जाती है। इस नदी का उद्गम जिले के मुॅडारा गांव से हुआ है।
एशिया का सबसे बड़ा मिट्टी से बना बांध इसी नदी पर जिले के छपारा ब्लाक के अंतर्गत भीमगढ़ में बना हुआ है।
