This application is a biographical list of 156 figures that have been designated as a National Hero. The list is compiled based on the data on the website of Social Ministry by January 2010 is equipped with a National Hero set list afterwards.
National Hero is the title given to Indonesian citizens or someone who fought against colonialism in what is now the Indonesian territory which killed or die in defense of the nation and state, or who perform acts of heroism during his lifetime or produce achievements and outstanding work for development and progress of the nation and state of Indonesia. In Law No. 20 of 2009 stated that the title of National Hero includes all kinds of titles ever given before, namely: Heroes Pioneer Independence, National Hero, Hero Proclaimers, National Revival Heroes, Heroes and Hero Revolution Ampera.
