Ada lagi yang mengusulkan supaya dibunyikan lonceng seperti yang biasa dilakukan oleh orang Nasrani. Ada seorang sahabat yang menyarankan bahwa manakala waktu salat tiba, maka segera dinyalakan api pada tempat yang tinggi di mana orang-orang bisa dengan mudah melihat ke tempat itu, atau setidaknya, asapnya bisa dilihat orang walaupun berada di tempat yang jauh. Yang melihat api itu, hendaklah datang menghadiri salat berjamaah.
Semua usulan yang diajukan itu ditolak oleh Nabi. Tetapi, dia menukar lafal itu dengan assalatu jami’ah (marilah salat berjamaah). (KYP3095) Lantas, ada usul dari Umar bin Khattab jika ditunjuk seseorang yang bertindak sebagai pemanggil kaum Muslim untuk salat pada setiap masuknya waktu salat. Kemudian saran ini bisa diterima oleh semua orang dan Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. juga menyetujuinya.

(KYP3095) Then, there was a suggestion from Umar bin Khattab if someone was appointed to act as a summon for Muslims to offer prayers at each entry of the prayer time. Then this suggestion could be accepted by everyone and the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. also agreed to it.
