Healthcare services have significantly improved over the last 25 years, however significant challenges still remain, especially in rural India.
Access to healthcare, healthcare financing and ensuring equitable services remain a major concern. It is estimated that 45% population travel more than 100 kms to access a higher level of care. This leads to selection of inappropriate and expensive medical facilities, which can increase disease complexity and financial burden.
South Rajasthan has some of the worst healthcare indicators in the world. Due to its rugged terrain and low population density, healthcare access is a major challenge for people living in these rural areas.
Karma Healthcare: is an initiative to improve access and efficiency of primary healthcare services in rural Rajasthan using technology. This initiative aims to provide affordable, equitable and reliable primary integrated healthcare services to the under-served populations in rural South Rajasthan.
