Kannur Ayurvedic Multispeciality hospital and Yoga Research Centre (KAMSH & YRC) were founded by Karuvan Vaidyar in 1900. He started his treatment in Ayurveda specializing in Agatha Thandram – Toxicology. In a short span of time his treatments gained name and fame. Later on, in 1956, his son K.P. Balakrishnan Vaidyar started a branch in Wayanad at Kalpetta.
Serving the rural area of Wayanad, he started an Ayurvedic medical shop by the name “Kannur Ayurvedic Pharmacy” at Kalpetta town along with OP facilities. In 1982, IP section was started with all types of Ayurvedic treatments from 1987 onwards. Today, headed by Dr. Vinod Babu K P, S/o.Sri. K P Balakrishnan Vaidyar is the Chief Medical officer along with Dr. Jeeja Vinod Babu B.A.M.S, KAMSH & YRC has come up full swing and has become a well-established Ayurveda healthcare provider.
