Balabharati is a weekly 1 hour neighborhood activity for the group of kids by their mothers working as a team. Kids in the age group of 5 to 11 years are taken through various value-education activities such as Shloka, Vyayam, Surya Namaskar, Yogasan, Khel(games), Pranayam, Geet, Katha(Story), Quiz, Craft, Special interactions with grand parents and neighbours, festival celebrations, seva activities and many such activities as planned by the team of mothers acting as shikshikas. Balabahrati activities covers many value dimensions such as Culture and Heritage, Positive health, Family values, Concern for society, Patriotism and Environment.
The friendly environment with free form learning helps the children to learn life values from their own neighborhood elders. Monthly content for the activity and concept support is provided by Balabharati team through the Balabharati Mobile app and web resources.
This mobile app has contents from all the previous editions of the Balabharati magazine is easily readable form that can be downloaded for self study. Balabharati centers of Bengaluru are allowed to upload information about significant activities which will help other centers also to know and adapt as useful ideas and best practices.
