CareMother (Anandi Maa)

CareMother is a mobile pregnancy care app that can monitor health during pregnancy, completely and accurately! CareMother can identify risk factors, early in pregnancy. All medical information related to pregnancy i.e. symptoms, history, test results can be transferred to the doctor in real-time for immediate decisions and treatment. The app is entirely free for the user. CareMother is an innovative platform that consists of: 1) the app and 2) a portable diagnostic kit used by a clinician or health worker. CareMother has expanded its services to more than 30,000 pregnant women across nine states of India, with 20 partner organizations, in a span of 3 years. Tests included in CareMother are hemoglobin, blood pressure, blood sugar, urine protein, urine sugar, fetal heart rate, fundal height, mother's height and weight. Moreover, information on several other tests conducted in clinics and hospitals can be added to the form, so that all information stays in one place for the doctor's review. The level of risk - and improvement - can be identified and tracked easily throughout pregnancy, by follow-up visits. CareMother connects the clients with the doctors, for the best health outcomes for the mother and her child!

Features of CareMother include:
1) Consistent pregnancy health monitoring:
CareMother can be used directly by the mother in consultation with her doctor, or by the healthcare provider, connecting with the mother.
The app allows you to view data from various tests, as calculated and entered from a point-of-care device. These tests include baby's heart rate, mother's blood pressure, blood sugar, hemoglobin, urine protein and sugar, height and weight, pulse and other vital parameters, and a range of other standard medical tests (e.g. hepatitis, thyroid, HIV).
This data can be monitored in real time to identify pregnancy risks, and ensure that they are addressed by the doctor.
2) Pregnancy card:
CareMother generates a pregnancy card that can be stored and shared with your doctor, digitally when required. It also helps view the test reports uploaded, resulting in better health analysis and tracking.
3) Scheduler and Tracker:
Scheduler lets you know the current week of your patient’s pregnancy, medical advice to keep in mind, and precautions that need to be taken from the mother's side. Tracker shows your appointment details or consultations, which can be used by the doctors/healthcare providers, for timely check-ups.
4) Post-natal care:
We have added a new module, to record the baby's health status (APGAR score) and growth after delivery, including height (length), weight and head circumference. We have also included mother's basic clinical parameters to be monitored through this module. This will monitor your health during the critical first 42 days after delivery!
5) High-risk categorization:
Each and every pregnancy will be categorized as per its risk status i.e. high- or low-risk, with reasons (e.g. anemia, pre-ecclampsia) with grades (e.g. moderate anemia). This will ensure that no pregnancy is left out, from our focused care model, and medical management is targeted to those who need attention.
