What is HelpMe! ICE ?
HelpMe! ICE is a mobile safety alert app that sends a text message to pre-selected contacts with your exact location to let them know you need assistance.
After installing HelpMe! ICE the HelpMe! ICE Wizard guides you through basic setup and defines fundamental settings.
It is best to complete the basic configuration parameters. At minimum, you must select at least one emergency contact in Emergency Contacts panel.
Once that's done, HelpMe! ICE is ready to be used.
You can manually start an emergency help request by:
1 -
Manually
- Starting the app and tapping the Alert button.
2 -
Shakering
- Shaking your device, no matter if the app is on or your mobile is deep sleeping or dozed.
3 -
Clicking
- Repeatedly pushing your device’s power button, no matter if the app is on or your mobile is deep sleeping or dozed.
4 -
Guardian Mode
- If your mobile is not used over a specified time period the Guardian service grabs your attention by playing a gentle sound from time to time. If your device continues to remain idle, the gentle sound is played progressively and more frequently until it sounds every second for one minute and theservice automatically initiates an emergency help request.
Once a help request is started, HelpMe! ICE will:
- try to find the current device locaction and address
- send an SMS message with a help request and location/address to the pre-selected rescuers
Once the first help request has been sent, HelpMe! ICE will be sending help messages every 5 minutes (default). To stop the help request process, an user has to open the app and tap the HelpMe! ICE rotating button on the home screen.
