Transcender Starship is in the process of launching a Sci-Fi game of interest to fans of Lt. Commander Data and the U.S.S. Enterprise. This app demonstrates the proof-of-work concept of the game wherein players will be able to earn valuable tokens.  The first step for any player to play the game is to earn real money utilizing a cryptocurrency mining rig that generates utility tokens known as Caloriecoins. Using the same OpenCV technology as in self-driving cars, the smartphone validates proof-of-work with its vision sensors. Back-end support is provided by Firebase, Cloud Vision, Maps and other Google Cloud Platform services.
In a future release, an Ethereum sub-token will be generated upon validation of a videotaped session which employs time-lapse photography with a range of .01 to 29 frames per second. To track orange/red objects, click on the Calibrate button and the Cartesian coordinates for those objects will be shown. The release version of the app supervises the proof-of-work algorithm and upon validation transfers a token to the player’s Ethereum wallet. The token can then be redeemed on an exchange or through the company by electronic transfer. 
Bitcoins are backed by proof-of-work that involves the use of power that is generated by nuclear fission and in some cases coal is burned. While such activity has not reached the level of an environmental emergency yet, any time pollution is created a sustainable alternative should be sought. Bitcoin relies on a proof-of-work algorithm whose hashing operations require that large amounts of power be wasted to perform otherwise meaningless calculations. With Caloriecoins, however, electromotive force is replaced by physical work done on a rig (exercise machine). Simultaneously, the miner becomes physically fit as this workout is integrated into a cardiovascular fitness program that the miner enrolls in as part of the game.
Prior to the introduction of Caloriecoin utility tokens, which will have a fixed value of $5, a donation-based crowdfunding effort is planned to fund bringing the rigs to market.
