Animal instinct is all about being aware of the surroundings. As humans evolved, the animal instinct became dormant, and the survival trait grew passive. In modern day term, we are meant to be geo-aware.
Today, world has become a global village, and rightly so. We need to be up to date with what is happening around the world. The age old word-of-mouth approach should empower each one of us, and should put us all on the same dice over the internet, which is how it was always meant to be. A word-of-mouth information feed, with the ability for people in the immediate vicinity, to rate for the veracity of the information should be the most organic source of information.
