Relay is an electrically operated switch (Switch) and is an Electromechanical (Electromechanical) component which consists of 2 main parts namely Electromagnet (Coil) and Mechanical (a set of Contact Switches / Switches). The relay uses Electromagnetic Principles to drive the Switch Contact so that a small electric current (low power) can conduct electricity with a higher voltage. For example, with Relays using 5V Electromagnets and 50 mA capable of moving the Armature Relay (which functions as a switch) to deliver electricity 220V 2A.
