คำอธิบาย

Intermediate yoga poses, intermediate yoga sequences, intermediate yoga videos, intermediate yoga routine or intermediate yoga class. All these terms are suggestive of most all classes, as on one side, you have beginners yoga, and on the other side, you have advanced yoga, and everything in between intermediate yoga. After you learn the basics, as in beginners yoga classes, virtually every other class is intermediate. You may encounter, once in awhile, an advanced class, which pretty much connotes contortions which would alienate most people.
I would have to guess that any class calling itself an intermediate yoga class is a physical class that can be vigorous, using fairly approachable exercises. Classes can range from a 30-minute to 90 minute intermediate yoga routine workout.
You could say all my classes are intermediate, as we want to be inclusive and not exclusive. So, I pick approachable poses that can be modified for the beginner or physically limited and can be explored more deeply by the people who wish to take things further (intermediate or advanced). Once you gain experience, you will never again be a beginner, but after that, I really don’t like these labels.
Basically, everyone should take these poses to a personal degree, and the real difference between beginner and advanced is the practitioner’s ability and/or sensitivity to discern where they belong in the pose according to their unique experience. The better you become in this, the more the yoga becomes healing, because you are working intimately with what you are feeling, which is why you have been given feelings which are to guide you. You could say then, a disquiet mind is beginner and a quiet mind is advanced, and everything in between is intermediate, but it is impossible to judge from the outside.
Intermediate also connotes “middle” — not too much and not too little, the poses challenging but accessible. This is actually the place all of us need to find. The middle place. What I mean is regardless of the class or the pose, I need to discern for myself some place in between too much and not enough. Where I’m stimulating but not irritating. I like to call this “walking the razor’s edge” or moderation. This moderate place in each pose is constantly changing as we are constantly changing, so the mind needs to get really quiet (free of distractions) to find that moderate place somewhere between too much and not enough. Then, you have a MATURE yoga practice, which is a label I like much better than intermediate or advanced.
