Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC) is a statutory body constituted by the Government of Gujarat under the Pharmacy Act of 1948, consisting of six members elected by registered pharmacists amongst themselves, five members nominated by The Government of Gujarat, three Ex-Officio members and one member elected by Gujarat Medical Council.
The Gujarat State Pharmacy Council is committed to ensure the highest level of care through excellence in establishing high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among pharmacists. We are taking various steps and initiatives to boost pharmacy field in Gujarat and India.

Pharmacy Practice Regulations 2015
The government of India issued a notification entitled Pharmacy Practice Regulations 2015 aimed at enhancing the status and practice of pharmacy profession in the country. The Pharmacy Practice Regulations 2015, framed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), is currently regulated by the Pharmacy Act 1948 and Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940. The new set of Regulations of 2015 lay down a uniform code of pharmacy ethics, responsibilities of pharmacist towards patient, role of a community pharmacist and drug information and more. The pharmacists are expected to interact with patients, doctors and nurses in educating the patients in a collaborative care model. The new regulation has made attending continued education program, also called 'Refresher Course' mandatory.
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 and 18 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948), the Pharmacy Council of India, with the approval of the Central Government hereby makes the following regulations; namely Pharmacy Practice Regulations, 2015
Statutory Functions
Registration of eligible persons as pharmacists and maintenance of register of pharmacists for the state under the provisions of Pharmacy Act, 1948.
