This is an Android Wear Watchface for a balanced ternary clock.
It tells the time in hours past noon,
minutes past the hour
and seconds past the minute.
The date is days of the week past Monday, day of the month, month of the year, and year.
The "1" symbols represent 1, the not sign represent -1 and the Tao sign represents 0. Place value gains significance by multiples of three moving to the left. Days past Monday are 3s, 1s. Hours and months are 9s, 3s, 1s. Minutes, seconds and days of the
month are 27s, 9s, 3s, 1s. Years are 2187s, 729s, 243s, 81s, 27s, 9s, 3s and1s.
The rows from top to bottom are hours, minutes, seconds.
Then there is a row of smaller numbers for days past Monday, day of the month, and month of the year.
Below that is the 8 trit number that covers dates from 3280 b.c. to 3280 a.c. The program will accommodate dates beyond 3280 by adding more trits to the dateline as necessary.
This app may help learners of all ages enjoy exploring place value systems.
See Wikipedia's page on balanced ternary (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balanced_ternary).
Tapping the top quarter of the screen toggles for agent activity (switches Dheera's Matrix background on and off)
Tapping on the right and left sides bellow the top quarter of the display allows cycling through color pallets.
The watch face adjusts for peek card size.
This is my first attempt at java programming or Android Wear Watchfaces. There are more features that I would like to add. You are welcome to advise or just browse the code. The code is open source and available on GitHub. You may also write to me at SFKYALE [at] gmail [dot] com. The GitHub site is github.com/ikjl/balancedTernaryClock
This program is ad-free. Ads are quite expensive and throw a monkey wrench in the primary mechanism of democratic influence on an open market. That is consumers choosing the greatest benefit for the least cost. It would be cheaper and more beneficial to society to direct the money we spend on ads into individual accounts that citizens can use only to make donations. Say no to ads, and Enjoy.
