The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) allows you to benefit from the health-care system in case of emergencies from countries inside European Union.
The EHIC Android application is able to:
- Store the information from a valid EHIC card locally on the phone
- Share the card information via multiple ways
- Backup your card with your Google Drive account
- Add reminder about the expiry date
!! IMPORTANT:
- This application is not replacing your real EHIC card, neither generates a card for you. It depends on the doctors if they want to accept it or not temporarily until you can present the physical card.
- No Internet connection is required, therefore the card data is stored only locally on your device. However if you want to backup your data with your Google Drive account, then you need to have an active internet connection during the backup process.
Permissions:
VIBRATE - the changing of the card fields is possible by hold-pressing on the card until a vibration is sensed.
CALENDAR - required in order to be able to add a reminder in you calendar for the card expiry date.
ACCOUNT - needed to be able to backup cards on your Google Drive account.
