Explore how the sun illuminates the Earth. Shows night and daytime over the entire globe, using a selection of maps. Includes NASA imagery for (cloudless) views of daylight and how our cities light the night sky. Set the twilight type for show how the terminator gradient between day and night.
Drag and zoom the infinitely-scrollable map. Touch and drag the night shadow to see how the world looks at other times of the day. Advance the calendar to explore the view at other dates.
Click on location and sun icons to get exact location and sunrise/sunset times. Long click on the sun to retrieve real-time solar indices and solar disk image with sunspots.

Solar index retrieval changed due to NOAA reorganization of their web site.
Intermittent force close when clicking on map icons should now be fixed. Image management improved to reduce resource contention problems.
Other faults such as map disappearance can usually be fixed by uninstalling the app, then reinstalling from Google Play.
