Are you a hiker interested in the history and culture of the area you are going through?
This guide is for you; a special four leg hike on the Portofino Mount trails where you will get to see churches and Middle Age abbeys on Liguria’s riviera.
For centuries many people have passed through these places - monks have built spaces dedicated to being a herniated and labour, which translated into using the land’s potential (S. Antonio, Cervara, S.Fruttuoso). They also created places to help and look after pilgrims and wayfarers (Millenaria, S. Nicolò)
Today this sense of hospitality can be found in the S. Antonio Eremo, one of the legs of the hike. Here you will find the managers of the Eremo that have inspired us to write this guide: from them you will learn everything you need to know about the rediscovery and care of this territory.
