This series explores the tragedy also known as the "Year of the War" during Japan's Universal Era in the battle between Japan's Principality of Zeon and the Earth-from-Space Forces (EFSF). But one of them broke the command and attacked the colony, and led to the weapon developed by the EFSF, called Gundam, by the inhabitants there.
