The Medici Chapels are proof of the successful collaboration between the artistic genius of Michelangelo and the power of the most influential family in the history of Florence.
Composed from the Mausoleum of the Princes, the crypt and especially the New Sacristy, the masterpiece of architecture and sculpture by Michelangelo, the Medici Chapels are the place chosen by the Medici to receive their remains. And so here we find, for example, the tombs of Lorenzo the Magnificent and his brother Giuliano, but also those of the Grand Dukes Cosimo I and Ferdinand I.
