The app says it needs access to the "Location" when it is installed, but it uses this ONLY when you 1) look at the map AND 2) choose to show your position to see you are in relation to the center. And it is not necessary to the don'ts. The position is not stored anywhere. If you have android 6.0 or later, you can turn off the use of position without affecting the rest of the app's features.
