説明

In 2014, UNFPA supported the Government of India in pioneering RKSK: the world’s first and largest ever national programme for adolescent health. This flagship programme called for a paradigm shift from a service-led curative health system, to a communication-led preventive approach. With almost 69% of the India’s 1.2 billion adolescent boys and girls living in villages, RKSK required out-of-the-box thinking to overcome last-mile challenges and build a cadre of peer educators for taking the nation towards a healthier future. In the state of Madhya Pradesh, UNFPA introduced a process called ‘Incubation and Replication’. This involved innovating solutions to overcome challenges in the field, in partnership with the state government and other partners, and then sharing the best practices with others states for scaling up nationwide. The Government of India has acknowledged ‘MP Model’ as the best replicable and sustainable package of innovations for RKSK in the country.
