One of the most relevant social networks of the last decade is Tumblr. This blog space is a hodgepodge of content where anything goes: video, microblogging, images, text, audio … a countercultral space that’s been a refuge for posts that probably wouldn’t have otherwise fit in with the rest of the social networks of the world. And sadly, it seems that its era is coming to an end, like what happened to Myspace back in the day. For this reason, we’ve gathered a couple different ways to download content from Tumblr blogs so it’s not lost forever.
As you may or may not have heard, David Karp, founder of Tumblr, is going to leave the company next month. This represents a real turning point for a company that’s not experiencing its best moment, in terms of users or posts. Plus, the continuous ups and downs that the company has suffered since being bought by Yahoo in 2013 aren’t helping its stability any. Without knowing what tomorrow holds, it’s always a good idea to be prepared. And that’s why we bring you a few ways you can download content from Tumblr.
Download Tumblr content to Android devices
If you want to have the images, videos, audio, GIFs, and everything else safe and sound on your Android, all you have to use is Timbloader, a tool that lets you easily download content. Of course, you need to have the official Tumblr app in order to download the content. Once you have both apps installed on your smartphone or tablet, you have to open the Tumblr app and browse through it until you find the content you want to download. There, you have to tap the send/share icon (the first one you see under the posts) and choose the option that says Timbloader.
As soon as you share the content, Timbloader will open with the post you sent. Next, all you have to do is tap Download, which appears in the lower part of the screen, and you’ll have it downloaded instantly. You can repeat these same steps as many times as you want and it works perfectly for posts that have various elements, as well as multimedia content that you can’t normally download from Tumblr. If you want to see everything you’ve downloaded through this app, all you have to do is tap the first button that appears in the upper right corner (the one that looks like a diskette). There, you’ll see list with all the content you’ve saved and can view it from there or delete it directly.
