You are about to experience LA's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) and Allied Heritage and Culture like never before. We will show you the City of Angels like nobody has ever dared. From the Chinese Theatre to Hollywood and Vine, and all points in between, our interactive self-guided walking tour will blow the dust off over a century of closeted stars, underground bars and gay rights battle scars. Gay or straight, young or old, paper or plastic, there’s no other tour like this in the world!
During our 90 minute self-guided walking tour you will learn about the birth and battles of the LGBTQ and allied community in Hollywood. From the initial footfalls of the LA’s 1st Gay PRIDE parade to the secret tunnels that lie under the Walk of Fame, PRIDE Explorer will show you Hollywood like no one has ever dared! You will see the unforgettable sights and hear the juicy gossip and startling stories woven into the fabric of this great “Queertopia.”
PRIDE EXPLORER™ was created by THE LAVENDER EFFECT® - a non-profit a project of Community Partners Advancing the Future of LGBTQ Heritage and Culture! Our Oral History Project, Educational Presentations, and Participatory Tours reach a broad audience to teach the contributions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Allied Pioneers. Celebrating LGBTQ Heritage and Culture helps to demystify our diverse community, as well as reduce shame, combat homophobia, and empower future generations.
