Getting your kids vaccinated is the best way to protect them from life-threatening diseases such as polio and rubella.
The recommended immunization schedule is designed to protect infants and children early in life, when they are most vulnerable and before they are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases.
Check the schedule for the age or age range when each vaccine or series of shots is recommended. If your child has missed any shots, work with your child’s doctor to determine vaccination dates for the missed or skipped vaccines.
Hepatitis B - 3 shots
DTaP - 6 shots
Hib - 3 or 4 shots (depending on the brand)
Polio (IPV) - 4 shots
Pneumococcal (PCV) - 4 shots
Rotavirus - 2 or 3 doses (depending on the brand)
Influenza (seasonal and H1N1 flu) - yearly
Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) - 2 shots
Varicella (chicken pox) - 2 shots
Hepatitis A - 2 shots
Meningococcal (MCV4) - 2 shots
HPV - 3 shots
