La description de

A Green building focuses on increasing the efficiency of resource use – energy, water, and materials – while reducing building impact on human health and the environment during the building’s lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal. Green Buildings should be designed and operated to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on its surroundings.
- Green buildings are designed to save energy and resources, recycle materials and minimise the emission of toxic substances throughout its life cycle.
- Green buildings harmonise with the local climate, traditions, culture and the surrounding environment.
- Green buildings are able to sustain and improve the quality of human life whilst maintaining the capacity of the
ecosystem at local and global levels.
- Green buildings make efficient use of resources, have significant operational savings and increases workplace productivity.
- Building green sends the right message about a company or organisation – that it is well run, responsible, and committed to the future.
In
Malaysia,
the
government
has
set
up
a
framework
which
will be
referred to
as
the "Green Building Index" for evaluating
the environmental design and performance of Malaysian buildings. The GBI rating system was developed jointly by the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) and the Malaysian Institute of Architects. The motivation behind this inventory is to structure
mindfulness among
all the players in
the
development
industry
on
the
essentialness
of
economic
development. This framework has set up a progression of necessities which are thought to be ecological cordial amid the course of the life cycle of the building development.
A GBI Certification gives you a measurable assessment of how “green” or sustainable your building is. The benefits of green building include:
1. Green buildings are designed to save energy and resources, recycle materials and minimize the emission of toxic substances throughout its life cycle.
2. Green buildings harmonize with the local climate, traditions, culture and the surrounding environment.
3. Green buildings are able to sustain and improve the quality of human life whilst maintaining the capacity of the ecosystem at local and global levels.
4. Green buildings make efficient use of resources, have significant operational savings and increases workplace productivity.
5. Building green sends the right message about a company or organization – that it is well run, responsible, and committed to the future.
Components of Green Building Index (GBI)
1) Energy Efficiency (EE)
2) Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)
3) Sustainable Site Planning & Management (SM)
4) Materials and Resources (MR)
5) Water efficiency (WE)
6) Innovation (IN)
