Golden Chariot is the first and only luxury train in South India, launched during March 2008, and run by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), as a joint venture between Indian Railways & the State Govt. of Karnataka.
The many worlds within Karnataka are deftly unraveled for the visitor as the train heads out to different destinations that defines the timeline of the State across centuries.
The rooms are elegant and luxuriously appointed, with attached hot & cold shower. Dining in the gently rocking car could make the tourists to believe that they have traveled back in time.
Sit beside the window and watch the landscape roll by, as the sun rises purposefully, warms up the boulders, streams through the forests, races over the hills, adds sparkle to the streams and rivers, and then sets beyond the horizon.
